Our Approach

CAT’s low-cost, low-barrier programming makes outdoor activities accessible to communities historically excluded from natural spaces—especially Black, brown, LGBTQ+, and low-income young people.

OUR STORY

Healed leaders heal communities

Our programs are informed by Social and Emotional Learning practices and designed to provide young people with opportunities to leverage the healing potential of the outdoors, while also building comprehensive skillsets to last a lifetime.

By centering culturally responsive, trauma-informed practices, CAT invites young people into relationship with their minds, bodies, and communities. Using outdoor adventure as our catalyst, we champion holistic wellness, grounded in a deep commitment to our core values of Outdoor Access, Community Engagement, Leadership Development, and Capacity Building.
