Catching Up With CAT: Finding Confidence Through Leadership

Hi there! My name is Karen, I’m new to the CAT team for this summer. 

I wanted to talk about my experience working with CAT. It’s been really different from my usual routine during the summer and I can’t complain. I’m having so much fun learning new skills, going outside, and making new connections with people. What I feel like it’s been really challenging while working here is just speaking up and having more authority, but I feel like I've been trying to speak up this week. Recently, I tried to lead a discussion towards the end of our program with the group that was a little bit of a challenge for us, so that made me really nervous and needed someone else in the team to step up for me. Yes, I struggled a little, but I’m glad to know that when I’m struggling, my team has my back which I’m really grateful for. 

I’m thankful for the CAT team that has been helping me a lot!
